US Beaches 101

Quick, summer's winding down - okay, so it's actually probably over as far as school enrollment is concerned.  But there is still plenty of warm weather left in most states.  What do you think of when we say beach vacation?

Not so fast, Disney-lover.  There's more sand along the Atlantic than just Orlando, although that is the right side of the country for my post today. But I'm talking about a famous 3-mile technically-concrete Boardwalk, a beach-side amusement park, maritime museums, and amazing shopping just off the beautiful sand and surf.  If it's too late to plan for this year, think this:  Virginia Beach graduation trips.

The Boardwalk itself along this beach is one of a kind.  You could never leave it and still have all you need in seaside fun.  But if you're there for more than a couple of days, there are all kinds of other attractions to keep you enthralled.  Motor World is devoted to all things auto racing, and you're going to love the way you get to join in the action.  The amusement park just off the beach has an incomparable, spinning, flying thrill ride called the Skyscraper.  There are museums devoted to life at sea and acres and acres of exhibits devoted to natural habitats and the wildlife of Virginia.  If the beach doesn't give you your fill of the sea, try a cruise where you can witness dolphins or humpback whales in the wild.

Virginia Beach is a beautiful way to experience America's coast, so don't forget it when you're planning your next tour to the sea.
