Illuminations Tour

The monuments and memorials in D.C. are already fascinating structures, the perfect place to emphasize history, art and design - even current events as they relate to the principles on which our country is founded or to historic wars and events similar to events of today.

A thorough tour of all of these amazing landmarks is quite a walk and can of course be done by motored transportation as well, which is usually how you experience the Illuminations Tour.

Each night, the monuments and memorials are illuminated.  The beautiful lighting can highlight details in the design you may not have noticed before.  So many of these designs were specifically chosen because they were so conducive to reflection.  This nighttime tour adds a new dimension to that purpose.  The tour is a moving experience and a very popular attraction for educational tours.  It's one of the most beautiful ways to take in several important landmarks on one exciting tour.
