Discovering Colorado: Rafting, Hiking, and the Rails
The Colorado mountains are perhaps not the only destination sometimes referred to as God's country, but they definitely offer some of the most beautiful scenery our country offers. Colorado's natural beauty, hiking-ready terrain, and well-known summits and landscapes make it the perfect destination for students. And Colorado student tours offer many ways to explore and discover the mountains.
White water rafting is a thrilling experience for anyone and something students often can't wait to do for themselves. Several companies in Colorado can make this experience both safe and once-in-a-lifetime. They provide the appropriate paddle jackets for instance, you provide the quick-dry clothing and sense of adventure. You can raft for half a day (about nine miles) or a full one (more like twenty-one) with a relaxing break in the middle for lunch in the beautiful river setting.
Hiking is another thing most groups plan on for a Colorado adventure. Some of the most beautiful settings in the country are found in Colorado, like the unbelievable Garden of the Gods in the Pikes Peak region. For exploring the red rocks and beautiful scenery here, students might also enjoy it on horseback.
Riding the rails may not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think of Colorado, but it's a great choice for group tours in the area (or tours of any kind!). The Pikes Peak Cog Railway takes groups to the top of Pikes Peak, over 14,000 feet. It includes time to explore Garden of the Gods as well. Cripple Creek and Victor Narrow Gauge Railroad offers a four-hour scenic tour through mining country, which is a great educational choice for students and fascinating as well. And then there's the Royal Gorge Route Railroad in Canon City. This two-hour roundtrip journey takes to the bottom of Royal Gorge, where the canyon walls tower one thousand feet above you. The tour follows the Arizona River and makes a stop along the famous hanging bridge for amazing photo opportunities. And besides the scenery and history in the tour, students will enjoy spotting wildlife along the way.
One beautiful state, many gorgeous mountains, and three popular ways to discover them. Colorado is an exciting choice for student tours.

We're putting a lot of new and fun destinations on our website thanks to the help of a lot of people excited about what their area has to offer. Places in the south, places surrounded by national parks and wildlife refuges, places rich with the settings for pivotal moments in American History, places…like Provincetown, Massachusetts.
For many student groups, a midwest destination makes a lot more sense financially than an east or west coast one. If you fall into this group, Chicago may be just the place for you.
We do a lot of educational tours around here. And here's a tip, you can make an educational tour out just about anywhere you travel. There's so much to learn, so much to discover, wherever we go. And poetic depth aside, almost ever destination has historical sites, museums, guided tours, or educational programs if that's what you're looking for in a trip.
